clareshep89 I would describe myself as a confident, enthusiastic and adventurous person. I have a very hard working, determined nature and I never give up easily. I also love to travel and meet new people. Sailing is passion. I have sailed since a young age and was in the Scottish Topper team for five years and later became part of an elite North of Scotland team and received training and funding. With the help of coaching I was able to compete in the Topper National Championships in 2003-2006 and the World Championships in France (2004) and Italy (2006). Aside from racing I also enjoy sailing for leisure and regularly sail a wide range of dinghies at my home club and enjoy crewing on friend’s yachts on the West coast of Scotland. I crewed on a 33ft yacht for the West Highland Week series and for the Round Mull race. Although I have little experience crewing on yachts, I feel that with my previous knowledge and experience in sailing I would learn quickly and adapt well as a crew member. In 2007-08, I spent twelve months teaching English in rural Chile. During this time I picked up the language quickly and I now speak fluent Spanish. It was a very challenging project, but probably the most incredible experience of my life. I taught big classes of around fifty pupils, set up extra curricular activities after school, became totally immersed and involved within the community and also travelled to several other countries in South America. I gained so much from the year and learnt a lot about myself. I feel I matured greatly as a person and really discovered my hunger for challenge and adventure. I am currently in my second year studying Physiotherapy in Aberdeen. I am an active member of the Mountaineering and Surfing societies, within the University, and am involved in the organisation of both. I also love to cook, and frequently prepare meals for my flat mates. I am always looking for new and exciting challenges, to push myself out of my comfort zone and to expand my horizons. I would absolutely love the opportunity be part of a team this summer. I am looking for summer work either as a sailing crew member or as part of the general onboard team (cook, hostess etc). However I am keen to get on the water so would be happy to get involved with anything.

0161mark.rigby From a very early age i have had a passion for boats and the water. I also work part time as a boat builder building narrowboats with a professional company and have done so for the last 8 years, 3 years of which were full time, and the past 5 years part time.
