I have ample hospitality experience, working as a barmaid, waitress, housekeeping, and also working as a restaurant floor manager. I am fun loving and hardworking. I have sailed on quite a few yachts on my holidays abroad and absolutely loved the open seas so because of these trips I would love to work on a yacht.

kaneoswin I am looking for an entry into the super yacht industry. My experience as a qualified electrician has given me the ability to work effectively under pressure and confidence when dealing with clients. My experience on both motor and sail yachts throughout my life has made me feel comfortable with the general operations of a Deckhand and I am eager to further develop my skillset. I am confident driving tenders and jet-skis. I show leadership when applicable and enjoy new challenges as I am big on all water sports and have a passion for fishing. I completed my electrical apprenticeship in 2013. While I am looking for a role as part of a great crew I would also be interested in any roles in which I could utilise my electrical skills.

HuntCol Having recently graduated from Newcastle University (in Physiology), I came to the realization that to do something I really loved, I would have to be working in an active environment, preferably outdoors. It quickly became obvious that crewing on yachts would be ideal, given my love for sailing and my experience on family holidays and courses, so here I am!

giorgiacastagna To whom it may concern, My name is Giorgia Castagna, I’m an Italian girl, 23 y.o. from Vicenza (Veneto). I own the Basic Training STCW '95 and valid ENG1. My native language is Italian, but I can also speak English and German very fluently. I’ve been travelling a lot during these last two years, so when I was in South America last January I had the chance to meet native people and learn both Spanish and Portuguese. I also started to study Russian, more than all just for self knowledge, but also because I think that every single thing you learn now, will be useful in your life later. After I got my diploma in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry I worked for more than a year and a half in a pharmaceutical factory in Verona, where I was in charge of the packaging machines, until I decided to take a gap year. I worked in a Bed & Breakfast in Norway, where I used to take care of the guests showing them their cabins. I used to prepare their meals: I improved my cooking skills making Italian dishes. I also used to clean the cabins and the shared buildings. That was my first experience with “hotel service” and I loved it: I understood that I like to work in contact with people and help them. The language I used the most was English, but I also used German sometimes and Russian once. Then I was “adopted” by a German family living in Bavaria: I used to work as housekeeper and helped them in any kind of issue. I also learnt how to cook Bavarian meals and always used German to communicate. During my staying there I had the chance to travel a lot, backpacking! I’ve been to the Middle East, North Africa, Balkans, Europe and South America. I met many awesome people who showed me their way of living, their culture, their world, and I loved it. Although I have no previous experience in this job, I believe I have the right combination of “world knowledge” and life experience, deductive reasoning and logical thinking to apply for the position of purser or stewardess. What I care the most is the wellness of the people around me. I have a lively interest in this new “unknown sea world” and would appreciate the opportunity to start a new “adventure” by working with you. Thank you for your time and consideration, Yours faithfully, Giorgia Castagna

Boat Buoy

Boat Buoy I've grown up with boats and have been working in the marine industry all my life. From 6 months of age I have spent days and weeks on the water with my parents coastal cruising around the UK. From the age of 16 I have owned my own boats, currently I have two (a 5m RIB, a 21ft wakeboarding boat) and three jetskis (all stand up type). The marine industry and marine environment is my life. After finishing college I worked for Merlin Equipment Ltd, designing and supplying electrical systems and components for marine and automotive applications. Assisting the UK boat builders with fault finding and testing of systems and products supplied. Following a 6 year period at Merlin I was given the opportunity to project manage the electrical installation on a ABS class superyacht build being carried out in Thailand (S/Y Silverlining). This project was fantastic opportunity and enabled me to learn a great deal about boatbuilding, manufacturing techniques and all aspects of marine construction. My original remit was electrical, but after the project manager saw evidence of my general experience I was soon involved in many areas of the build, working as an advisor for anything and everything of a technical nature. During this time I became very good friends with the owner, who was much more hands on than most throughout the whole build, I regularly meet up with him and go sailing, following launch of the vessel he completed a 27000mile round the world voyage with his young family, I was on-board for the first month throughout Thailand and Malaysia and the last month where we covered around 1000 miles through Canada, taking the 32m vessel through the great lakes, up the Welland Canal through the commercial locks and up to his home town. During this whole trip there were no electrical faults whatsoever, a testament to the design and installation of a very complex system. Early 2015 I am due to sail with him from Panama to Phuket through the South Pacific where I plan to complete the requirements of the RYA Ocean Master qualification, with a view to becoming a Motor Yacht Captain further down the line. I pride myself on being able to speak to and work with any person at any level. Whether it be workers during a fit out or refurbishment project, or owners and their guests, I can tailor my approach, my manner and the way I communicate to suit all situations. I’m comfortable getting covered in oil with the engineers or taking guests out for day trips ashore. Nothing really phases me. I love to travel, meet new people and explore new areas of the world. I relish the challenge of maintaining and fixing all aspects of mechanical and electrical items, from the vessels and vehicles I own to assisting family and friends who find themselves with in troubling, usually expensive situations with theirs. Whatever the situation, wherever I am, with anything I have available to me I am confident I can keep things running smoothly or fix the issues that arise. I work great under pressure, applying a methodical and logical approach to everything I do. I try to spend as much time as I can out on the water, from wakeboarding and watersports in the morning before work, to coastal cruising at the weekend on the family flybridge cruiser and sipping cocktails in beautiful bays. A true water baby for as long as I can remember. I thoroughly love every minute I spend on the water, out at sea or laid up in port. Fair weather sailing might be good for lounging in the sun and enjoying yourself, but I love a rough passage when you really feel alive. Current Qualifications include; STCW95 Power Boat Level 2 VHF Course Qualifications in progress; Yacht Master (sail and power) Ocean Master Personal Interests; General fitness, I use a gym 5 times a week. Wakeboarding and Waterskiing are the favourite summer pursuits. Skiing/Snowboarding, when the waters cold I still like to play! Anything with an engine, from motor cars to motor bikes I love them all. Travelling.
